Course Description
This course is designed to train individuals in the operation, maintenance, and management of biogas production systems. Participants will gain a solid understanding of anaerobic digestion principles, the equipment and processes involved in converting organic waste into biogas, and the practical skills needed to safely and efficiently run a biogas plant on a daily basis.
Throughout the course, learners will explore the full biogas production chain from feedstock selection and preparation, to digester operation, gas collection and storage, and the use of biogas for cooking, heating, or electricity generation. Special attention is given to safety procedures, troubleshooting common operational issues, routine maintenance, and basic quality control to ensure consistent and reliable biogas output.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the technical knowledge and hands-on competencies required to work as biogas plant operators, contributing to sustainable energy production and effective organic waste management in their communities.
